TeTe Motor
Top-tier flat profile, planetary, stepper, and brushless dc drives tailored for OEMs.
Modern engineering paradigms require rapid development cycles of drive mechanisms that occupy minimal physical footprints while generating substantial output force. This intersection of dimensional constraints and power output has elevated flat gear motors into a critical asset within the global supply chains of robotics, aerospace, medical technologies, and specialized automation.
Established in 2006, TeTe Motor is a certified High-Tech China manufacturer specializing in high-performance micro-actuation systems. Our facility bridges the gap between state-of-the-art motor optimization and scalable mass production, yielding unmatched micro drive units. We specialize in Micro DC Motors, DC Gear Motors, and Brushless Motors (BLDC), ensuring 100% custom-fit integration for demanding application environments.

Unlike conventional cylindrical gearboxes, flat gear motors are constructed with parallel shafts. This mechanical layout utilizes spur gear configurations where the shafts are offset horizontally. By shifting the gears side-by-side rather than stacking them linearly, the motor achieves a minimized axial footprint. The output shaft is offset from the central axis of the motor armature, permitting a flat configuration ideal for sliding gates, roller shutters, and compact robot joints.
Thermal accumulation is a persistent obstacle for miniature flat gear motors due to their compact internal volumes. TeTe Motor offsets this via precision-engineered metal gear trains (carbon steel, sintered bronze, and high-performance powder metallurgy) combined with thermal-conductive lubricants. For high-torque applications, the aluminum housing serves as an active heat sink, conducting heat away from the winding stator to maintain speed stability.
Flat gear motors are critical enablers for smart, space-constrained electromechanical interfaces. Here is how industries utilize these unique drive units:
From gear hobbing to final testing, our processes guarantee reliability and compliance.

The micro actuation market is moving away from basic mechanical torque conversion. The next generation of flat gear motors integrates directly with digital control networks. We identify three distinct shifts defining future product development loops:
Future drive applications require real-time feedback loops. TeTe Motor’s current research focuses on integrating high-resolution magnetic and optical encoders directly into the parallel shaft structure. Rather than appending an encoder to the back of the motor—which increases the axial footprint—we integrate sensor targets onto the intermediate gear assemblies, retaining the slim axial profile while offering sub-degree positioning feedback.
Gear wear is a major cause of failure in highly concentrated workspaces. To counter this, our research and development pipelines utilize advanced self-lubricating composites, carbon-filled engineering plastics, and specialized ceramic-metallic matrices (cermets). These materials dramatically lower gear-train backlash, eliminate the need for wet lubrication, and prevent standard wear profiles under vacuum or low-temperature environments.
While brushed motors remain highly cost-efficient, BLDC technology yields up to five times the operating lifetime. By combining outer-rotor brushless topographies with offset flat gearboxes, we create high-reliability assemblies. Eliminating physical commutators reduces electromagnetic noise, allowing these flat BLDC units to meet strict EMI standards in clinical environments.
We work directly with OEM procurement teams to customize every element of the mechanical and electrical system:

Expert answers to common architectural, quality, and supply-chain inquiries.
Planetary gearboxes stack gears coaxially, resulting in a cylindrical shape that projects outward from the mounting surface. Flat gear motors align gears in parallel planes offset from the motor shaft. This allows for a much thinner profile (reduced axial thickness), which is critical for space-constrained installations like smart locks, wall-mounted displays, and automated valve actuators.
Yes. While we run fully automated lines for high-volume orders, we maintain flexible CNC machining and semi-automatic winding stations for prototypes and specialized production batches. Our engineering team can modify internal gear ratios, shaft profiles, and torque tolerances with competitive MOQ arrangements.
Backlash is managed through precision manufacturing of the gear teeth. We use CNC gear hobbing machines to maintain tight center-to-center distances. For highly sensitive positioning applications, we can combine plastic and steel gears or design custom scissor-gear assemblies to virtually eliminate backlash.
TeTe Motor is an ISO9001:2015 certified manufacturer. Our products are fully compliant with RoHS and REACH standards. On request, we provide CE, UL, and FCC compliance documentation for our brushless motor and driver combinations, ensuring seamless integration into Western markets.
Standard modifications (such as changing wire harness lengths, shaft flat orientations, or winding specs) typically take 10 to 15 business days. Full custom configurations requiring new gear casing tooling or bespoke gearboxes generally take 30 to 45 days, depending on mechanical complexity.
